Top 10 Fashion Trends of 2025
Wondering what the top trending pieces and brands were in 2025? In between drafting your “year in review” post and writing your never-to-be-seen-again “2026 ins and outs” in your notes app, take a look to see where your fashion stacks up to the trends this year.
10. Funnel- neck jackets
An element of the quiet luxury trend, these high necked coats have been popping up on several “things I find extremely chic” reels this fall. Both practical–the high neck can function as a built-in scarf–and comfortable, it’s no surprise that these have been the dominating coat trend of fall/winter ‘25. Or, as Vogue so eloquently put it, “these high-collared coats possess a sense of poise, not to mention, practicality, that acts as soft armor when bracing for biting winds and surprise sprinklings.”

9. Suede
Whether jackets, bags, or boots, suede also gives off that “effortlessly chic” vibe, found in several trending aesthetics such as Western, Boho Chic, and English Countryside. Take your pick from a slouchy tote bag, an oversized blazer, or a fringe jacket– this versatile yet luxurious material has been all over 2025.

8. Countryside Chic
Also a trend that began popping up this fall likely in part thanks to the resurgence of heritage brand Ralph Lauren, this sophisticated, luxurious look evokes the Cotswolds. Think plaids, earthy tones, riding boots, and crewneck sweaters, mixing lengths to create layering interest.

7. Lace Layering Tops
A hint of lace adds a bit of feminine romance to any outfit. The long asymmetrical lace cami has been the defining piece, with the lace hemline spotted poking out under sweaters to add an unexpected pop to winter ensembles. The lace short also has had a moment, aided by the rise of the brand Intimissimi.

6. Loafers and socks
A stalwart among the fashionable city girl, the loafers and socks combo has been going strong throughout 2025. Note the rise of some alternatives such as boat shoes and also slimmer loafers in place of chunkier ones at times. People also played with their sock choice, with scrunchy socks pairing with shorter dresses and classic loafers with tall socks and midi skirts or capes (Who What Wear).

5. Boho Chic
Talking about the prominence of lace, boho chic has transcended the bounds of Coachella into a mainstream look in 2025. Chunky boots, bold, charm adorned jewelry, ruffle skirts, cuff bracelets, and big belts are central to this ‘70s inspired look, along with suede (#9!) and fringe, as mentioned above. Kate Moss and Jane Birkin are style icons for these ensembles.
4. Brand on the rise: Parke
A rising brand among the Gen Z cohort, these highnecked sweatshirts were all the demand this past year. Note impressive collabs such as Stoney Clover Lane, creating a brand identity playing into the logo image while also continuing to redefine and experiment through each collection.
3. Butter Yellow
The color of the year– butter yellow was most notable throughout the winter months but spotted everywhere across the fashion spectrum. Quite possibly one of yellow’s most famed moments in a while within the fashion world, the hue’s cool undertones and nostalgic pastel vibe make it approachable and flattering across many different skin tones.
2. Brand with the best collabs: Gap
This was the year the iconic American mall brand regained its standing through compelling campaigns and collabs. Note the release of the second collection of Gap and Dôen in Spring 2025, the Y2K-inspired denim campaign featuring the diverse, hit girl group KATSEYE, the launch of Gap Studio Fall/Winter 2025 collection starring Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter Apple Martin, Sandy Liang x Gap in October, Gap x Stranger Things, and finally, Summer Friday’s first apparel being released as a collab with Gap last month.
Polka Dots
Arguably the most prominent, polka dots have been EVERYWHERE throughout the entire year. Shown everywhere from going out fits to vintage ensembles, the iconic pattern dominates the market's offerings. Will this be a micro-trend, or will it prevail into 2026?
