Fashion Icon Samuele Olivieri’s Classy Style and English Countryside Inspiration

For Italian fashion creator Samuele Olivieri, being classy is not about money—it’s an attitude. Inspired by his mom’s English roots, Samuele has a distinct, yet timeless style, with nods to the countryside look. Think Barbour and Hunter boots, mixed with Sebago and Seiko. He has a knack for finding quality pieces on a budget, like his vintage Giorgio Armani watch thrifted for just £20. What started as a passion project has grown into a creative platform, with collaborations like Zalando helping him fully express his art through fashion. AGE: 23

LIVING IN: Rome, Italy

OOTD: I’m wearing pieces from the Pull&Bear x Henri Matisse collection. The jacket has a Japanese blue denim feel—it’s colorful and perfect for summer in Rome. I paired it with my Giorgio Armani watch, bordeaux leather loafers from Pertini, and a soft brown leather bag that I thrifted in Oslo. Lately I’ve been loving putting bandanas with rings around my neck.

SHOP THE OUTFIT:

MY STYLE: Very classy. I’m not afraid to experiment with new trends, but I always try to maintain a sense of elegance- even in streetwear outfits. My approach is simple enough to recreate, but difficult to copy.

FASHION FAVORITE: White socks and loafers. I think they bring back the classics era. I’m also a big fan of shorts with boots. Hunter boots are my favorite, not just for their look but for their history. I love the idea of wearing history, not just clothes.

LAST PURCHASE: Jacques Soloviere Matt Kilt Shoes

STYLE INSPO: I love to browse books of brands and their fashion shows, like Barbour, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Sebago. I also love looking at paparazzi shots of the English royals of the past. At the moment, I’ve been getting inspiration from social media creators like Ben Henkler and Borsoi.

FAVORITE SHOPPING SPOTS IN ROME: A vintage market called Porta Portese is fantastic. If you go in the morning, you’ll probably find Barbour Jackets, belts, Dr. Martens boots, and cowboy boots. Here in Rome I avoid big shops, I prefer thrifting. But if I had to choose, I would say Sebago, Cos and Barbour.

CURRENT TRENDS IN ROME: Honestly, in Rome, people don’t follow trends. I actually look at “grandpa” fits more because they dress better than the youth here. I love seeing them wearing linen suits and crazy, colorful ties. I love ties, and I have a pretty nice collection of them myself.

FAVORITE AESTHETIC: The English countryside aesthetic. I love the mix of autumn colors, and I dream of being able to wake up in my house, slip on my Hunter boots and Barbour jacket, and walk through the countryside with my horse.

CLOTHING ITEM I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: My vintage Giorgio Armani watch. For me, watches are a security. They squeeze your wrist and make you feel like a classy man. It doesn’t matter the cost; but rather, the story of a watch. I bought mine during an offsite with the startup Vibeslist, where I work, and that trip was so significant that every time I wear the watch, it reminds me of the experience.

BEST STYLE ADVICE: Don’t wear what others want—wear what makes you excited to get out of bed and feel not only nice, but cool. Also, wear history, not money.
